The building itself tells a story. Over 100 years old, it was once a meat packing and sausage smoking facility. The history still lingers in the structure’s bones, giving it an authentic Chicago feel — but don’t worry, the only thing that lingers today is the creativity and professionalism in the air (and thankfully, not the aroma of sausages past).

Every detail in the venue is intentional and infused with character. And each room is named after a ballroom dance — the Mambo, Jitterbug, Tango, Foxtrot, and others — and furnished with a curated mix of vintage finds and global art pieces. It’s like stepping into a living gallery, with each corner offering its own conversation starter.

Clients have brought in everything from live music experiences to immersive art installations to weddings to corporate meetings, transforming the rooms into whatever they need. Sofar Sounds has even used Catalyst Ranch's Polka room to host a number shows over the years. Each room is, inside of the four walls, essentially a blank canvas ready for your imagination to take the lead of how you want it to look.

With two expansive floors, the venue comfortably accommodates up to 250 guests — 125 per floor. Whether you’re hosting a breakout session, a private celebration, or a large reception, there’s a space (or two) for you.

Each floor features multiple rooms of varying sizes, and here’s the kicker: only one event is booked per floor at a time. That means your group gets the undivided attention of the staff and a completely personalized experience.

Want to create a lounge? A green room? A bridal suite? Done. With so many flexible rooms, you can designate spaces however you need — for prep, privacy, or that quick breather before your big moment.

And no stress about the weather — all rooms are fully indoors, so your plans stay flawless no matter what Mother Nature throws your way.

Services That Take Events to the Next Level

While the venue doesn’t provide in-house catering, they partner with an incredible lineup of vendors — from gourmet caterers and bartenders to DJs and live musicians. Need a florist or AV technician? Just ask, and they’ll connect you with trusted pros.

What about parking? Parking in downtown Chicago can be tough and expensive! Well, the venue thought of that as well and partnered with a local garage to help their guests with parking needs so the hassle of hunting for a safe, ticket-free space, is removed from top of mind. Validated parking is available up to 12 hours for just $13 at a nearby garage.

And yes — the venue is fully wheelchair accessible thanks to elevators that bring guests directly to each floor.

Late-Night Celebrations & No Sound Limits

Your event doesn’t have to shut down early. While most events wrap by midnight or 1am, noise restrictions aren't a concern. Each floor operates independently, ensuring your event stays lively, private, and uninterrupted.

A Nod to the Past, A Toast to the Future

One of the venue’s most memorable stories comes from its early days... Back when they occupied the 3rd and 4th floors, one room was affectionately known as the “Sausage Room” — a cheeky nod to the building’s meatpacking past. While the name and smell are long gone (thankfully...) since they’ve since relocated to the 4th and 5th floors, the spirit of storytelling and playful creativity lives on.

After our walkthrough of the space, the main takeaway was artistic and creative. The team at Catalyst Ranch seems very committed to supporting inspiration and artistry, whether local emerging artists or corporate team building and think tanks, there's a soul that one can't help but feel in this space.
